Advice for Project Pages

You have complete freedom on your project pages to display your work in the best way possible.  Below are some tips to help you present your work well.

Provide context for your project pages by including a few lines of orientation for an unfamiliar audience.  You may use the existing text box on the page for this purpose.

Intersperse project text and media so it displayes as a single continuous page of content (without dividing lines).

  • To work in a single rich text module, simply insert media at the appropriate locations in your writing.
  • To work in a series of modules, add the appropriate modules (e.g. a gallery, another text box, etc) to the page.  Add content to each module and reorder the modules as appropriate.

Caption all media content to provide attribution or explain how it relates to your written discussion.

  • In a rich text module, you can simply write below your embedded media.
  • In a gallery module, you can add a caption
  • In an image/video/audio module, you CANNOT add captions.  In this situation, add a new "Rich Text Module" underneath and use that to write your caption text.
  • In a rich text module, you can also provide attribution by turning media items into hyperlinks (e.g. clicking on a picture takes you to the page of the picture's source).

Save regularly in each module.  Publish at the end of each work session or more often.

Check the final display by clicking the large "Published" tab at the very top-left of your screen.  This allows you to see your portfolio in the same way as a viewer.  You can verify that all material has been published and that you are pleased with the overall look.
